Social Skills Training for Youth with Autism (STARS)

Social Training for Youth with Autism and Related Syndromes (STARS) allows children and teenagers the opportunity to develop critical social skills through group activities.

Three Children PlayingServices

Group therapy sessions are divided by age and are led by our experienced staff, including a psychologist, social workers, a speech language pathologist, and occupational therapists. Groups address many topics, such as:

  • Anger management
  • Self-control
  • Decision-making
  • Introductions
  • Listening skills
  • Making friends
  • Feelings
  • Problem-solving
  • Cooperation
  • Self-esteem
  • Manners

Eligibility/Funding

Referrals for services are accepted from families, service coordinators, physicians, schools, therapists, and others.

There is a fee for services. Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, private pay, school district and alternate funding sources are accepted. Assistance is available to help individuals obtain funding.
