Family Support Services

Boy at summer camp with a bow and arrowSince 1986, Enable’s Family Support Project has provided a variety of supportive and technical services to people who have been diagnosed with a developmental disability. The goals of the Family Support Project are to help families remain intact and to ensure the family member with disabilities is receiving all necessary services.  Family Support also partners with Lourdes Camp to provide a summer camp experience for children with disabilities.

Services

The Family Support Specialist can provide:

  • Information and referral for needed services
  • Informal counseling
  • Advocacy
  • Ongoing support
  • Assistance in finding funding sources

Eligibility/Funding

Referrals for Family Support Services at Enable are accepted from service coordinators, physicians, agencies, work programs, schools, families and others. Eligible individuals must have a developmental disability, live at home with a parent or guardian, and live in Onondaga, Madison or Oswego Counties.

Family Support is funded through the New York State Office For People With Developmental Disabilities.
