Individualized Living Services
Individualized Living Services (ILS) serve individuals with developmental disabilities, providing instruction in daily skills necessary for independence. Each ILS participant has an individualized plan that outlines the skills they would like to develop further. These skills may include:
- Community Inclusion
- Money Management
- Situational Safety
- Housekeeping
- Use of Public Transportation
- Conflict resolution and communication
- Boundaries and relationships
- Self Advocacy
- Time Management
- Personal Hygiene
- Diet and Exercise
- Civic responsibilities and volunteerism
Community Support Specialists work with participants in their home and in the community to build a network of support.

Eligibility/Funding
To participate in this service an individual must have a developmental disability, be eligible for Medicaid, and be enrolled in the Home and Community Based Services Waiver (HCBS).
Individualized Living Service is funded by the Office For People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) through the HCBS waiver. Prior approval from the Central New York Developmental Services Office is needed to receive Community Habilitation.
