Augmentative Communication

The ability to communicate can be vital to a person's social skills and confidence. For individuals with disabilities, communication is not always an easy task. Augmentative communication can help children participate more fully at home, at work, and in the community.

Speech Therapist and man with communication deviceServices

Our Speech-Language Pathologist offers evaluations for many types of augmentative communication tools, ranging from simple picture boards to high-tech speech-generating devices. She can help participants and families decide what type of device is best for each individual's needs. Our inventory of evaluation equipment allows for a "try it before you buy it" opportunity during the evaluation process.

Some augmentative communication devices are also available for loan from Project Adapt, our assistive technology lending library.
