Preschool
The foundation of inclusion is respect, integrity and dignity for every child, regardless of differing abilities. Enable’s Education Services provide integrated settings for all children, of all abilities, to learn and play together.
Exploring Your World
Exploring Your World (EYW) offers a wide variety of developmentally appropriate learning activities addressing the individual strengths and learning needs of all children. Morning and afternoon sessions are available for children aged 3 to 5 years. For children who would benefit from extra program time, EYW offers a 5-hour program.
Each day provides opportunities for art, music, literacy, free play, gym/playground time, and creative activities. A nutritious snack is also provided. Daily activities promote growth in all areas of child development. The curriculum focuses on preparing students for kindergarten. EYW also partners with the City of Syracuse to offer Universal Pre-K.
Toddler Program
EYW is one of the only local preschools with a program designed specifically for
toddlers. Serving children between the ages of 18 months and 3 years, our
program provides a balance of structured learning time and play, encouraging
social skills and other areas of development.
Services for Children with Autism
EYW features a classroom specifically designed for children diagnosed with an
autism spectrum disorder. This classroom follows the principles of Applied
Behavioral Analysis. In this setting, children practice social interaction,
functional communication, group participation, toy play, following routines,
coping with frustrations and other self-help skills.
Extended Hours
EYW is a licensed day care provider through the New York State Office of
Children and Family Services and is able to offer a full day of childcare. EYW
also offers a summer camp program.
Staff and Facilities
Children at EYW benefit from a small child to
staff ratio, receiving individualized attention from
the staff. Our staff is highly trained and includes
early education teachers, special education
teachers, teacher aides, social workers, speech
therapists, physical therapists, and occupational
therapists. Our school features newly renovated
classrooms, two indoor gyms, and an
accessible playground.
Collaboration with Vincent House
In addition to the program at Exploring Your World, Enable provides special education services to children with disabilities enrolled in the preschool program at the Vincent House.
