Augmentative Communication

The ability to communicate can be vital to the development and socialization skills of children. For children with disabilities, communication is not always an easy task. Augmentative communication can help children participate more fully at home, school, and play.

Services

Our Speech-Language Pathologist offers evaluations for many types of augmentative communication tools, ranging from simple picture boards to high-tech speech-generating devices. She can help families decide what type of device is best for their child's individual needs. Our inventory of evaluation equipment allows for a "try it before you buy it" opportunity during the evaluation process.

Some augmentative communication devices are also available for loan from Project Adapt, our assistive technology lending library.
