 Environmental Modifications
Enable's Assistive Technology department is authorized to provide services for families and individuals with a developmental disability, a traumatic brain injury, or another physical disability (e.g., due to arthritis, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, etc.).
Services
An Adaptive Technician can evaluate, design and build adaptations for the home, school or job. Services include consultation, developing project plans and cost estimates.
Projects include:
- Building ramps
- Repairing ramps
- Custom-made grab bars
- Bathroom and Kitchen modifications
- Mounting systems for communication devices
- Home assessments
- Adaptations at work sites
- Modifications at school
Referrals
Referrals are accepted from service coordinators, individuals, family members, doctors, therapists, and other human service agencies. We can also provide referrals to other Enable programs and to other services and agencies in the community.
Funding
There is a charge for these services. We will help you obtain equipment and services by working with your insurance company for you. Enable also accepts Medicaid.
