Collaborative Therapy

Collaborative Therapy Services

Enable and Arc of Onondaga are working together at one location to make it easier for people with disabilities to get the services they need. Enable's Collaborative Therapy Services provides a Mobility Clinic, a Splinting and Bracing Clinic, Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy services at 600 S. Wilbur Avenue in the Arc of Onondaga building.


Services Include:
  • Assessment
  • Ongoing treatment
  • Consultation
  • Adaptive Equipment recommendations and modifications
  • Staff and caregiver training
  • Follow-up after discharge

Mobility Clinic
A team of Enable's therapists will assist with obtaining and/or modifying equipment for mobility including power and manual wheelchairs, walkers and canes. Enable's Adaptive Technician can modify and create specialized equipment to meet individual needs.

Splinting and Bracing Clinic
The Splinting and Bracing Clinic provides recommendations and customized equipment for positioning extremities. Using braces and splints can assist with maintaining and improving joint function, decreasing joint pain as well as help with preventing skin breakdown.

Occupational Therapy
Daily living skills, home and work environments, sensory needs, and functional tasks are evaluated. 1:1 therapy, follow-up services, consultation and recommendations are provided as needed.

Physical Therapy
Walking, balance, motor skills, endurance, strength and flexibility are evaluated. Appropriate equipment is available on site. Follow-up services, consultation and recommendations are provided as needed.

Speech Therapy
Speech, language, oral, and motor skills are evaluated. Services are provided in a clinic based environment. Follow-up services, consultation and recommendations are provided as needed.

Adative Equipment
To help improve or maintain functional capabilities, Collaborative Therapy Services can help participants choose and purchase a piece of equipment, or product system, whether acquired commercially, modified or customized. Adaptive equipment can include walkers, canes, wheelchairs, picture boards, communication devices, dining, bathing and dressing equipment.

Information/Resource
Training, in-services and informational seminars are available to staff, care-givers, participants and their families.

Referrals
Referrals for services at Wilbur Avenue are accepted from service coordinators, physicians, day habilitation programs, work programs, schools and families.

Funding
Enable accepts Medicaid, private insurance, private pay, VESID funding, school district and alternate funding sources. The staff at Enable can assist in completion of paperwork required by third-party payers.
