Enable Receives Three Grants
Enable was honored to be the recipient of three recent community grants. A grant from the Central New York Community Foundation in the amount of $7,752 was used to purchase new floor mats for the two gyms at Exploring Your World, Enable's inclusive preschool program. The mats will provide a safe environment on which the children can play and exercise. The continuous surface of the mats will also be easier to clean, ensuring the health and safety of all students and staff at EYW.
The second grant was awarded to Enable's Home Service program from the Syracuse Commission for Women. The $500 grant will be used to provide services to a female participant residing in Enable's north side neighborhood. Home Service provides assistance to individuals who may "fall through the cracks" of traditional support systems.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities awarded a grant of $6,891 to Project Adapt, Enable's assistive technology lending library. These funds will be used to purchase adapted toys and equipment to benefit young children with disabilities and their families. Project Adapt allows families to borrow such items free of charge.
