Main Function

Assist in the daily classroom routine.

Duties

1.    Provide Services

  • Attends to children's physical and emotional needs.
  • Interacting with all children in daily classroom activities. 
  • Supporting, facilitating and encouraging social interactions and friendships among all children.
  • Assisting children in arrival, dismissal, meals, toileting, and positioning needs, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Special Education Teacher, implement classroom activities to fulfill each child's individualized education plan.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required.  At least one year working with young children with disabilities and/or experience in early childhood setting preferred.

Conditions of Employment

Transportation necessary to meet program needs.  Must be able to lift 45 pounds.  Must be able to work Monday through Friday; mornings and/or afternoons at any one of our locations.  Must participate in database check through the State Central Registry of Child Abuse and Maltreatment. Must participate in successful database checks through the State Central Registry of Child Abuse and Maltreatment, HHS Office of Inspector General and Excluded Parties List System.
