Main Function
Provide moderate to intense support to one or two children specifically assigned, and to assist in the attainment of each child's Individual Education Plan goals.

Duties

1.    Provide Services

• Facilitates practice of long and short-term goals in daily tasks.
• Facilitates social interactions between the child and other children in the classroom.
• Practice "fade-back" support providing what is necessary to achieve goals. 
• Encourage generalization of skills and independence.
• Ensure the safety of the child at all times.
• Assist the child in daily living skills such as toileting, feeding and dressing.
• Managing records.

2.    Communication

• Interfaces with team providing anecdotal information on progress and strategies via team meetings.
• Maintain daily contact with the family to assist in carryover of goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilties

Under general supervision of a certified Teacher of Students with Disabilities as part of a transdisciplinary team following established Agency policies and practices, implement individualized education plan goals to the child. 

Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required. Experience in early childhood setting preferred.

Conditions of Employment

Transportation necessary to meet program needs.  Must be able to lift 45 pounds. Understand that position is child specific based ion an IEP.  Must be able to work when child is in program 10 month school year, 6 week summer program.  Must participate in database check through the State Central Registry of Child Abuse and Maltreatment.  Must be able to sit on the floor.  Must participate in successful database checks through the HHS Office of Inspector General and Excluded Parties List System.
